Visual Campaign
Campaign Design, Visual identity
2026
Nocturne started as a personal project and became something larger than either of us expected. The original idea was straightforward — a monochrome editorial exploring contrast and texture. What it turned into was a meditation on how much a photograph can hold before it stops being a photograph and becomes something else entirely.
The casting was deliberate. We were looking for presence over conventionality, for people who understood stillness as a form of expression. The shoot was built around long pauses and slow adjustments rather than the rapid-fire energy of most editorial sessions. The camera stayed still more often than it moved.
Post-production was minimal by design. The temptation with high contrast black and white is always to push it further, to make it more dramatic than it already is. We resisted that. The images were processed to feel found rather than made, as if they had always existed and we had simply been present when they surfaced.
Nocturne was released without context or explanation. No campaign language, no press release, no designated meaning. It went out into the world and people responded to it in ways we hadn't anticipated — which confirmed that the decision to stay silent was the right one.

The series continues to circulate. Some images have appeared in spaces we never expected. That feels correct.
